80 percent faster loading times than Xbox One X.
How much better are the loading times of the Xbox Series X compared to the Xbox One? There are the first answers to that. Several magazines report a reduction of up to 80 percent. Various Xbox One games were used for the tests.
When the Xbox Series X hits the market on November 10, 2020, the new console should not only convince with improved graphics and computing power, but also with its extremely fast loading times. According to Microsoft, these should enable a much more pleasant game flow. But how fast are the loading times actually? The colleagues at GameSpot now provide an initial answer to this question.
Worth reading: Xbox Series X is probably not the last console from Microsoft
You recently had the opportunity to get an Xbox Series X (buy now ) to take a closer look at it for a few days. In doing so, they not only examined the graphics power mentioned at the beginning, but also the loading times. In order to enable a direct comparison, they first ran or loaded different games on the Xbox One X and then on the Xbox Series X. The results were very clear: depending on the title, a reduction in loading time of up to 80 percent was noticeable. The difference is most evident in games with generally very long loading times, such as Red Dead Redemption 2. The latter takes a little more than two minutes on the Xbox One X, while on the Xbox Series X it is ready to start after 38 seconds. Here is a brief overview:
Red Dead Redemption 2
- 38 seconds (Xbox Series X)
- 2:08 minutes (Xbox One X)
Control
- 10 seconds (Xbox Series X)
- 58 seconds (Xbox One X)
Final Fantasy 15
- 13 seconds (Xbox Series X)
- 1:11 minutes (Xbox One X)
The Outer Worlds
- 11 seconds (Xbox Series X)
- 43 seconds (Xbox One)
This is of course a test with relatively few games and should therefore not be fully meaningful. However, the results serve at least as a rough guide. In any case, it is already becoming apparent that the loading times are actually much shorter than on the previous generation of consoles.
