Those in charge of Epic Games want to expand, a new headquarters are needed. Specifically, the move to the approximately 93,000 square meter "Cary Towne Center" in Cary, North Carolina is imminent in 2024. How much the company paid for the department store is not known. Will there be Fortnite statues after the renovation?

Epic Games has come a long way. The company was founded in 1991 as Epic MegaGames by Tim Sweeney in Rockville, Maryland. In 1999 the name was changed to Epic Games and the headquarters were relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina.

For a long time, Epic Games was mainly associated with Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Gears of War and the Unreal Engine, which is still used by many other studios to develop games. The greatest success in the company's history, however, is the battle royale hit Fortnite, which (and continues to flush) so much money into the coffers that Epic Games itself with the Epic Games Store to become a major Steam competitor swing up and still parallel can invest with Apple and Google in court.

And since Epic Games thinks on a larger scale thanks to the success of Fortnite, the latest news fits into the picture: Epic Games is said to have acquired an entire department store with the approximately 93,000 square meter "Cary Towne Center" in Cary, North Carolina. This is to be transformed into the company's new headquarters in the next few years, and the move is planned for 2024. It is currently not known whether the move will also affect the company's 50 or so offices around the world.

Who knows, maybe in a few years we'll see Fortnite statues and demo videos of the current Unreal Engine there ?!
