You can now experience the fantasy universe of the trading card game Magic: The Gathering in an action role-playing game. Magic: Legends invites you over the Epic Games Store or Arc Games for the open beta.

Fight your way through the magic universe

The Magic: Legends Open Beta lets you explore five regions of the game world, where you can find over 175 spells and more than 170 items. With these you fight in a team of up to three players against hordes of monsters in order to become the most powerful planeswalker. You create this from the classes geomage, mind mage, beast caller, consecration priest and necromancer. In addition, you can build your own meditation realm, a changeable level with many secrets that serves an unknown master.

"Cryptic has once again demonstrated its ability to bring a popular franchise like Magic: The Gathering to life in a way that will delight loyal fans and welcome new players to the Magic multiverse," said Yoon Im, CEO of Perfect World Entertainment. "As the very first ARPG based on Magic: The Gathering, Cryptic has created something very special with Magic: Legends. In this Open Beta we look forward to the reactions and feedback from the players."

"This is truly a historic moment for the Cryptic Studios team," said Stephen Ricossa, executive producer at Cryptic Studios. "Magic: Legends has come a long way since we introduced our idea to Wizards of the Coast in 2016. Over the years, the team has created an unparalleled ARPG experience that echoes Planeswalker's fantasy with fast-paced combat and strategic Deckbuilding connects. We are delighted that players can enter the Multiverse for the first time today. "

If you go straight to the Magic: Legends Open Beta, you can look forward to the Gaven Guardian costume, the bat look for the ogre mortar and two loot and mission boosts as a bonus. You can also get a free moorland ranger costume, moorland ranger creature looks and two loot boosts through the Epic Games Store until 6 April at 6 p.m. CET. All readers receive daily free news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts about their favorite games. So far we have financed this site through advertising and kept it as free of clickbaits or paid items as possible, but since COVID-19 this has become increasingly difficult. Many companies are cutting or cutting their advertising budgets for 2020. Budgets that we unfortunately have to rely on if we want to continue to offer PC games free of charge as usual in the future.

For this reason we turn to you now. As a PC Games supporter, you can support us so that we can continue to offer our content in the usual form for free, without introducing a paywall or publishing clickbait news like "And you won't believe what happened next …" . Every contribution, large or small, is valuable.
