Probably the biggest news at Blizzcon 2021 was the announcement of Diablo 2: Resurrected. For years fans have wanted a new edition of the Hack & Slay classic with modern graphics. It should finally be ready this year. With the help of the developers of Vicarious Visions, who are now part of Blizzard, the game, which is over 20 years old, shines in stylish 3D graphics without losing the old feel when handling. If you want to try out exactly what it feels like before the official release, you can currently register for an alpha test on the official website.

Compared to the online portal PCGamesN, the developers have now revealed a few additional details about the planned test phases. So there will be two different alpha tests. "We'll start with a technical single player alpha and then we'll have a second technical alpha that will serve as a kind of multiplayer stress test," explains lead producer Chris Lena in an interview. However, the producer did not want to reveal further details about possible dates, duration of the test phases and other things.

During the two test phases, important decisions should be made about the future face and feel of the remaster. According to Chris Lena, the developers are quite open to balance adjustments that help make the game lively for a modern target group. But that will only happen if the desire to do so clearly emerges from the feedback from the players. You can currently register for the alpha tests on the official Diablo website.
