AMD Big Navi
On October 8th, AMD had the presented the first four new CPUs of the Zen 3 generation. The Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 7 5800X as well as Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X will go on sale on November 5th – all in one Special we went into more detail and had also integrated a general CPU purchase advice into it. It was already known then that there would also be a keynote on Big Navi, today, on October 28th. Big Navi means the latest generation of Radeon graphics cards. It is not yet clear which models from the new 6000 series will be presented.
Keynote: 5 p.m., not 6 p.m.!
The keynote in question starts today at 5 p.m. Central European time as a video stream and is among other things available directly from AMD – on some websites you can still find 6 p.m. This misinformation comes about because of the time change around winter time. Our clocks were changed last weekend, but in the USA this will only be the case next Sunday – therefore the keynote starts at 5 p.m. our time, although the start time in the USA is the same as the CPU keynote, which started at 6 p.m. Central European Time.
What do we expect
We will of course also follow the keynote and shortly after the end of the stream summarize what we were able to learn. We expect technical data, prices, release dates and comparison tables with benchmarks presented by AMD. The latter would allow a conclusion as to whether and to what extent AMD can attack the GeForce RTX 3000 models 3070, 3080 and 3090 that have already been released. Of course, AMD should pick out benchmarks that make the new Radeon models look particularly good. However, experience has shown that one can still read a certain trend.
