The Animal Crossing: New Horizins life simulation continues to soar in Japan. Nintendo has already sold more than three million copies of the retail version there. In addition, of course, there are the units sold digitally.

Even three weeks after the release, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons simulation continues to soar – especially in Japan. This is not least evident from the current Famitsu numbers. As a result, the game recently broke the three million retail copies mark. It is exactly 3,031,784.

Reading tip: Animal Crossing: New Horizons tested by PC Games

This is a remarkable number in itself, but it also means an increase of more than 400,000 units sold since the previous week. This is logically enough to keep on top of the Japanese sales charts. The direct pursuer – the remake of Resident Evil 3 – lags far behind with just over 189,000 copies sold. Incidentally, the total sales of Animal Crossing: New Horizons s (buy now for € 54.99) I significantly higher. The Famitsu charts only record the number of retail versions sold – i.e. the disc version. In addition, there are of course the copies sold digitally, for which no concrete information is currently available.

However, it is certain that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a huge success, especially in Japan. Among other things, it was able to place the best launch in series history so far, which is a remarkable achievement given the popularity of the earlier offshoots. Unfortunately, there is currently no specific information on sales figures in Germany, so we cannot make a direct comparison.
