Baldur's Gate 3: Mod adds new races
The new modification Adventurer's Guide to Tamriel for the early access version of the role-playing game Baldur's Gate 3 adds new races to the game. These come from the RPG series The Elder Scrolls.
You can choose from a total of five human and ten elven races. People include:
- North
- Breton
- Redguard
- Colovian (Cyrodiil)
- Nibenese (Cyrodiil)
With the elves you have the choice between:
- Altmer
- Bosmer
- Dunmer
- Orsimer
Whereby these are still divided into sub-peoples, which include the Hlaadu, Redoran, Telvanni, Indoril and Dres. Mod developer NellsRelo explains that he would like to introduce even more races. However, he doesn't believe that all will be possible. At least not without the appropriate assets. But if you want to play a Khajiit, you might be lucky. NellsRelo assumes that he can bring at least some of the feline creatures into play.
NellsRelo has already written a 210-page source book which adapts the D&D rules in the 5th edition to the universe of The Elder Scrolls. He is now working on this source book for Baldur's Gate 3.
The now published version of the modification is just the beginning. How far the mod should go then depends on which tools the Larian Studios publish for Baldur's Gate. A complete campaign in Tamriel might be possible, but it is based on the D&D rules. But that remains to be seen. Because first of all Baldur's Gate 3 has to appear in the "final" version, which will probably be a few months in coming. But it's fascinating to see how active the modding community is already.
