As the website Kotaku reports, Electronic Arts has apparently stopped working on a spin-off of the Star Wars Battlefront series. Two other titles for the space saga are still under development. One of them could be Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order 2.
Electronic Arts is said to have recently suspended a Star Wars game project, according to a report by Kotaku magazine. Under the code name "Viking" there was said to be a kind of spin-off Star Wars: Battlefront in progress. The game should have been released at the launch of the new PS5 and Xbox Series X generation of consoles.
An open word game with story focus
According to Kotaku, "Viking" should be an open world game with a focus on story and characters. However, the problems with development have been from the beginning until now to the end. Allegedly too many people were involved in the creative process. It is said to have been a typical example of "too many cooks spoil the broth".
EA continues to work on new Star Wars projects. Earlier there was evidence that Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order 2 is in the works at Respawn Entertainment. Another project is said to be something new and innovative. Maybe we will learn more about the Star Wars game future that Electronic Arts has planned at E3 this summer.
