Beta of the Hack 'n Slay will only start in 2021

from Andreas Bertits
Actually, the beta of the new Hack and Slays Path of Exile 2 should start at the end of the year. But the developers explain that this will no longer happen. However, two expansions for the first part are planned, which should appear by December 2020.

In case you were looking forward to it, the beta of the new Hack and Slay will be released at the end of the year Path of Exile 2 to be able to play, you have to wait a little longer. Because the developers declare that they cannot meet this deadline.

No beta this year

"When we announced Path of Exile 2 last year, we mentioned that the beta could not start until the end of 2020 at the earliest. This is definitely not possible this year because of the pandemic, there are significant delays in the schedule. We focused on ending our leagues as punctually as possible and that means some delays for the continuation. We look forward to our next announcement of the upcoming content and we will continue to amass any technological improvements that we have in the existing Path of Exile Client can bring, "says a statement in the official forum.

Path of Exile 2: 14-minute gameplay shows innovations in the action RPG

Two expansions for Path of Exile 1 are planned for this year. But problems also arise here. While the Harvest expansion has only recently started, the next is to follow in September and the last one is planned for December this year. The developers always expect a period of 13 weeks between releases. However, Harvest lasted 14 weeks, which now upsets the schedule. While this would not be so bad for the September expansion, it would slip into the Christmas season for December, when many developers take time off to celebrate the festival with the family.

Therefore, the team at Grinding Gear Games is now trying to shorten the development of the next PoE extension to twelve weeks. However, all of this can still change. We will definitely not be able to play Path of Exile 2 until next year.
