When will the action role-playing game Biomutant, which has been in development for years, appear? It wasn't until the end of last week that we reported that the release period was narrowed down to the first quarter of 2021. Accordingly, the game should be released before March 31, 2021. This information goes back to a statement by THQ Nordic CEO Klemens Kreuzer in an interview with the business platform GamesIndustry.biz. This is obviously a mistake.
Biomutant is still going on
Shortly after the interview was published, THQ Nordic contacted GamesIndustry to put the matter right. Accordingly, the publication of Biomutant is currently planned for the publisher's coming fiscal year. This includes the period from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. This is probably where the misunderstanding arose because CEO Klemens Kreuzer may have been speaking from March 31, 2022. Since there is still no more precise specification of the release date, it can take a while before the release of Biomutant.
The role-play puts you in a fantastic, post-apocalyptic world, in which genetically modified beings are up to mischief. You too slip into the role of one of these beings, with whom you can either save the world from a dangerous plague or lead it to ruin. With the hero created in the extensive character editor, you pummel enemies with fancy Kung Fu attacks or you can use an extensive arsenal of weapons. You explore an open game world full of quests and secrets. To get around you use useful aids like mechs, jet skis and hot air balloons. The game was announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One at the time. It now seems very likely that there will also be corresponding upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
