The beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also took place on the PC on the second weekend and the data miners tried as always to elicit the secrets of the game from the code. They didn't like a few lines, however.
The Battle Pass and changing seasons were a popular choice for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Actually Treyarch wanted to go the same way with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but a few lines in the code suggest otherwise. It seems the fans are being let down.
It's about a Season model for the game and the Introduction of loot boxes, a more than unpopular game mechanic. Treyarch wants to take the whole thing to the extreme, the video of the find doesn't allow any other conclusion.
The trailer for the new mode "Fireteam: Dirty Bombs":
Sorry, nothing else works. Rickrolling just needs the element of surprise. With this meme classic, Treyarch allows himself joke with the dataminers. They actually found lines about the season model, loot boxes and a godmode, but the link that was in the code led to the music video by Rick Astley. His song "Never Gonna Give You Up" has been used since 2007 to fool people. Incidentally, Rick Astley is very aware of his popularity, like him in an interview on a major British talk show told. According to the comments below the video, half of the nearly 800 million views are from people who have been rickrolled.
The dataminers are now one of them too, but they must have taken it with humor.
The dataminers were probably also looking for new information Warzone in Black Ops Cold War. There is currently hardly any information about this, in the latest trailer for Fireteam mode at least part of the map should have been seen.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13, 2020.
