The star from the superhero film "Black Panther" is dead. After a four-year battle against colon cancer, Chadwick Boseman, who also starred in the last two Avengers films, has died with his family. He was 42 years old.

Sad news from Hollywood: Popular actor Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer at the age of only 42. This was announced by his family via Boseman's official Twitter account. "With immeasurable sadness," the relatives explain on Friday evening that the actor was diagnosed with colon cancer in the third stage in 2016. In the course of the next few years the disease finally advanced to the fourth stage. During this time, Boseman underwent countless operations and chemotherapy, but still continued his work as well as possible and made films such as Marshall (2017) and Da 5 Bloods (2020). His final appearance will be in the upcoming film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom by George C. Wolfe.

According to the Film database IMDb Boseman's career began in 2003. After numerous minor parts, he played the highly acclaimed lead role in the 2014 musical drama Get On Up, before finally making his debut as the iconic Marvel superhero T'Challa with Captain America: Civil War (2016) gave. The role made him world famous, followed two years later with Black Panther, an extremely successful solo film that has won countless prizes. Boseman then played the part in the two Avengers flicks Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019). In the same year he was seen in the cop thriller 21 Bridges.
