Treyarch has released the big mid-season update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The patch notes with information on the changes and innovations are now available – the list is extensive. With the season patch, new content comes primarily into play. One of the highlights is the sanatorium map, which is designed for matches with 40 players. Recently there were indications that the lake on the map could also be found on a future Warzone map and at the same time introduce new gameplay features such as swimming. It is believed that a new map for the Battle Royale shooter will be available for the first Warzone anniversary in March.
With the mid-season update, players will also get access to the new Wakizashi sword, which can be unlocked via an in-game challenge. Alternatively, you can get the blueprint from the store. From now on, you can let off steam in the multiplayer mode at Dropkick: Here two teams fight over a briefcase that contains secret nuclear codes. There is also a new vehicle: With the Tactical Raft you can race across the lake to the sanatorium. You can find out which playlists are currently active in Black Ops Cold War below:
- Sanatorium 24/7
- Nuketown 24/7
- Raid + Crossroads Strike 24/7
- Gunfight Blueprints
- Face Off (3v3)
- Prop Hunt

In Zombies mode, on the other hand, a new variant comes into play with Cranked. The aim here is to prevent a countdown from counting to zero and thus your character from exploding. The timer refills with every zombie kill. The Onslaught Raid playlist is live on PlayStation. The patch notes show that the update provides "general stability improvements" specifically for the zombies mode. It is not known which screws Treyarch actually turned here. The battle royale shooter Warzone received a new patch before the mid-season update: The update played additional weapon nerfs. The current Warzone playlist is composed as follows:
- Buy back solos
- Plunder trios
- Rebirth Island
- Resurgence quads
- Mini Royale Solo
Treyarch has announced more content for February 4th. Then the new zombies map Firebase Z and the multiplayer map Express will appear. The roadmap to the new free content can be found in a separate article under this link.
