This week the new season of the Call of Duty League has started. The official matches will no longer be played on the PS4 in the future. Instead, the makers decided to switch to PC. For the time being, however, professionals still have to use a controller. The organizers have not yet revealed when the mouse and keyboard may also be used.

The organizers of the Call of Duty League have announced that the new season will no longer be played on PlayStation 4, but on the PC. However, players still have to do without a mouse and keyboard in the esports league. Even in the new season, controllers are still required. By switching to the PC, however, professionals now have a little more choice. The pad only needs to be approved by the e-sports league.

Why the organizers initially ban mouse and keyboard in their games was not revealed. According to initial speculations, the esports league could give its professionals some time to adapt before they may no longer be required to play with a controller in 2022. It was also announced that the Call of Duty Challengers (amateur league of competition) will support crossplay for the first time in the new season. Participants can therefore play regardless of the platform. Here, too, a controller is still required for the 2021 season.

The new season of the Call of Duty League started on September 14, 2020. The matches in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are currently being played. In November, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the next part of the series will appear in stores. In our preview, we already took a detailed look at the shooter. The beta will also start shortly. From October 8, 2020 fans can get started on PlayStation 4. A week later, PC and Xbox One can also take part in the test.
