After rumors already started that we would get Spider-Man as a "free game" for PS-Plus members in June, Sony has now officially announced that we will at least definitely receive Call of Duty: WW2.

The "free games" of May, which PS-Plus members received, did not meet with much enthusiasm. Two simulations were at least one too many for some PS4 owners. In June we can at least look forward to a real hit – Call of Duty: WW 2.

A highlight for shooter fans

On Twitter, Sony officially announced that Call of Duty: WW2 (buy now) is one of the two "free games" that you get as part of the PS Plus subscription. The shooter takes you into World War II and tells an exciting story on the front. You can see how good CoD: WW2 is in our test read up.

Call of Duty: WW2 was released in November 2017 and is therefore not that old. Only Activision Blizzard releases a new part of the series every year, which is why the game has already been overhauled by CoD: Black Ops 4 and CoD: Modern Warfare and the Battle Royale offshoot Call of Duty: Warzone. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth it for shooter fans.

What does this announcement mean for the Spider-Man "leak"?

Also today Spider-Man appeared as a "free game" with the PS-Plus logo in the English PS Store, which led to the assumption that we will receive this title "for free" in June. This has not been confirmed.

And it seems to be more than a coincidence that Sony has now announced that we will get CoD: WW2 as one of the two "free games" in June. Or according to the tweet from Sony even from May 26th. We usually only find out which titles await us on the last Wednesday of the month. Does Sony want to reduce the disappointment in advance if Spider-Man is not available as part of the PS Plus subscription?

Or does Sony have two big hits for June: Call of Duty: WW2 and Spider-Man? That would of course be exceptional and would certainly please PS4 owners.

At least we can look forward to CoD: WW2, which, according to Sony, all PS Plus subscribers can even download "free" from May 26th.
