Capcom has not yet made a decision on the price increase for games – Gamesaktuell

from Dominik Zwingmann
Publisher Capcom announced this week for the first time on a possible price increase for new games of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Accordingly, the company will closely monitor the market situation before making a decision here. So there does not seem to be a fundamental price increase yet.

In the past few weeks, several publishers have already commented on a possible price increase for games that could be introduced with the start of the new generation of consoles. Now those responsible at Capcom have also made a comment on this topic. However, they did not want to commit themselves here either. Instead, the company will constantly monitor the market situation and then make a decision. For the time being, however, there should not be a fundamental price increase. Rather, it will be decided from game to game in the future.

The discussion about a price increase started in July when publisher 2K Games announced a higher price for the versions of NBA 2K21 for PS5 and Xbox Series X. A total of 10 euros more must be put on the table here. Afterwards, among others, Xbox boss Phil Spencer and the Ubisoft team commented on the topic. Both companies have neither confirmed nor denied a price increase for their titles. We will keep you up to date.
