Activision’s newest addition to the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard, will probably have no problem with the big footsteps of its predecessors and should certainly do justice to the corresponding pressure to succeed. Even before the official announcement A well-known analyst predicts that Vanguard will likely become the best-selling game in the US in 2021.

Cloudy with a prospect of sales success

That announced Mat Piscatella, an analyst at the American market research institute NPD, on twitter. There he wrote: “I predict Call of Duty: Vanguard will be the best-selling video game in the US in 2021. Shocking, I know.”

As the second part of his tweet shows, the analyst is not very surprised by his own prediction. And that should be the case for many: No matter whether you are a shooter fan or not and no matter what you think of the series – you cannot deny the sales success of Activision’s established franchise with the best will in the world.

The past also bears witness to this. As Gamespot reported, the series has topped the list every year for the past decade. The only exceptions are the years 2018 and 2013, in which Rockstar stole the top spot on the podium with the hits Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5.

But how is it called so beautifully? Exceptions prove the rule and so the overall success of Call of Duty should make the prediction of analyst Piscatella more than likely. Call of Duty: Vanguard has not yet been officially revealed. The announcement should be within the predecessor, Call of Duty: Warzone (buy now 8.90 €) take place on August 19th.
