As part of another edition of the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, two games were announced for the Nintendo Switch that you would not normally have expected. But there is still one small catch. Using cloud streaming technology, Control and Hitman 3 will be playable on the Nintendo Switch. The title from Remedy Entertainment will be available in the recently released Ultimate Edition from today with all expansions in the Nintendo eShop. There will also be a test version. Among other things, you can use it to check your Internet connection to see whether it is fast enough for the problem-free transmission of Control.
A cloud version of Hitman 3 will be released for Nintendo Switch next year. A date has not yet been mentioned here. On other platforms, the new game with Agent 47 will be released on January 20, 2021. Some time ago, the IO Interactive team revealed detailed details about Hitman 3.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that games have been brought to Nintendo consoles using cloud streaming technology. Resident Evil 7, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Phantasy Star Online have already been brought onto the platform in this way. So far, cloud versions have only been available in Japan for the Switch (buy now € 429.99 ) released. With Control and Hitman 3, the technology is now being used outside of Japan for the first time.
