Andrzej Zawadzki, Lead Game Designer of Cyberpunk 2077, has reached out to the public via Twitter because death threats reached the team after the renewed postponement. In his opinion that is absolutely unacceptable. We see the same way!
At the beginning of October we had the feeling that many fans of CD Projekt RED and big open-world role-playing games sank back into their gaming chairs with relief. Cyberpunk 2077 finally got gold status after two postponements reached. Nothing can go wrong now! A few days ago, an employee of the studio even confirmed via Twitter (the tweet has now been deleted) that there will be no more postponement guaranteed.
Well, today we know better. On October 27, the developers announced the third postponement. The The release date of Cyberpunk 2077 moves from November 19th to December 10th. The reason: They want to publish the game on all current and next-gen consoles equally stable and polished. The rumor mill specifies that the PS4 and Xbox One versions to blame for the shift should be.
With that in mind, the employee's tweet mentioned above doesn't look too good, of course. However, the perspective shifts when you know that the entire team learned of the shift at the same time as the public.
Nevertheless, one can of course criticize the repeated postponement, as well as the whole topic "Crunch on CD project", which boiled up several times in the last few weeks. A certain annoyance is understandable. There are certainly some who have taken a few days off for the launch. Criticism shouldn't turn into death threats. Unfortunately, that's exactly what is loud Andrzej Zawadzki, Lead Game Designer of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 58.19 ), happens. In a tweet, he emphasizes that this type of criticism is absolutely unacceptable. The developers are only human too.
Let's all just hope that the mood will calm down quickly and that on December 10th we will have a darn good, polished and cleanly running Cyberpunk 2077 in our hands – no matter which platform we want to gamble on.
