CD Projekt Red already stated some time ago that some content from the upcoming action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 had to be cut. A developer has now made a statement about this and asks for the fans' understanding.
"Trimming features and scope is a completely normal part of development," said Miles Tost from CD Projekt Red. "You can experience that quite openly with our game, because we were happy to give in to the requests of the community and showed them this 2018 demo . Think about it. The game – two years to go. "
Since then, for example, wall running has been cut from the game, for which the developers have given "design reasons". Combat with two weapons, the ability to customize vehicles, and the Spider-Bot for the techie class are also among the items that don't make it into the game.
"Of course we rethink and change things and of course we also have ideas that sound great on paper, but then don't work well in the game with all the other features," continued Tost. "I understand that this is disappointing for everyone when it happens, and difficult to understand without the full context of the development environment, but in this case I just kindly ask you for your trust."
But there is not only criticism of the decision to use content from Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 58.19 ) to delete. Some from the community show understanding. The development of a video game is a process that changes over time and adaptations have to be made, to which some content falls victim every now and then.
