Cyberpunk 2077 was unexpectedly postponed again. While some are patiently waiting for the end result, others are beside themselves – but are clearly going too far.
CD project takes more time
Recently, developer CD Projekt released one Message. The release of Cyberpunk 2077 would now be postponed for the third time and thus to December 10, 2020. The reason would be the lack of timeto test the version on all nine platforms the game will be released on.
Developers receive death threats
The studio certainly expected that there would be a shit storm, but senior game designer Andrzej Zawadzki is now showing the public that that's not all. In addition to numerous nasty comments, the developers and those responsible are currently also dealing with death threats. These are directed not only against themselves, but also against the family and are one way or another completely unacceptable. The studio rightly filed numerous lawsuits.
"These are some of the harmless messages some of us have received. There were far worse. Each one is displayed. We won't let this go through. Don't take this lightly. Don't ignore it. It's serious. Apart from that, I'm not in the TT for a few days. Take care of yourselves."
The Twitter community is stunned and is sending the team nice messages that will probably speak from the heart to many of you.
"Please don't let this stop you from doing what you love.
The silent majority, like me, value all the work and dedication that goes into developing these games.
Just remember that for every fool like this there are thousands who aren't.
Please, keep in mind."
"We appreciate all of the hard work you all have put into CP2077 at CDPR and understand that the delay must have been necessary or it would never have happened. Unfortunately, there are far too many selfish people in the world who forget what is really important."
It can be assumed that CD Projekt has good reason to postpone the release again despite all promises. Threats of all kinds are completely out of place, show a lack of intelligence and are absolutely unacceptable. This is just a game, which had to be postponed and not around the end of the world, which is probably not clear to some unrealistic players.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be out when it's ready, and we should be glad that there are still developers out there who are trying.
