With Cyberpunk 2077, the release of the new CD Projekt Red plant is getting closer: The launch is planned for April 16. The release is initially on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. A version for Google Stadia will follow later in the year. Cyberpunk 2077 is also likely to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but has not been confirmed so far. In a chat, a developer once again emphasized that the main focus is currently on the current generation. Nevertheless, a release for the new consoles is "possible". The team had already commented on this topic in June 2019.

The role-playing game will also appear for the streaming service Google Stadia later in the year – there is no exact date for this. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the launch of the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft is also planned for this year. In a private facebook conversation An employee of CD Projekt Red once again addresses the question with a fan. The main focus is currently on the release for the current systems. Nevertheless, publication of Cyberpunk 2077 for the next-gen consoles is "possible". The release of the new role-playing game for PS5 and Xbox Series X cannot be completely ruled out. So far, the developers do not want to communicate specific plans. Already in June last year CD Projekt Red commented on this topic,
"Of course, we look at what is currently happening in the gaming industry. We are part of it, and we always have to look ahead," said level designer Miles Tost. At that time, the developer had already emphasized that CD Projekt Red initially focused on the current work. "Who knows: When the time comes, we may support next-gen," added Tost.
Both Sony and Microsoft want to offer full backward compatibility for their new consoles. Accordingly, games from earlier systems should also be able to play on PS5 and Xbox Series X. In order to optimize their games for the new, more powerful hardware, developers could also submit revised versions. We keep you up to date in our news area. (buy now for € 59.99)
