How good Cyberpunk 2077 has become from a playful point of view, you can see in our test of the action RPG look at. Our colleagues from PC Games Hardware, on the other hand, give you an impression of the technology behind the title.

The technology behind Cyberpunk 2077 is so well received

PC Games Hardware tested a pre-release version of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 58.19 )which used Denuvo copy protection. The GOG version of the RPG does of course without copy protection. However, since Denuvo could affect the performance of the game, the PC Games hardware does not run benchmarks for now. Still, you get an idea of how well the game is going. It was tested on an Asrock X570 Pro 4 motherboard with MD Ryzen 9 3900X in the standard clock rate and an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280. The system has 16 GiByte G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3600 RAM and an overclocked MSI RTX 3090 Gaming X / 24G. The game was played on an Asus ROG Swift PG27VQ monitor with 165 Hz and Gsync support and enabled downsampling to 3,840 × 2,160 pixels at 60 Hz.

With a preset screen resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, the system suggested ultra settings including ultra ray tracing and DLSS on the "automatic" level. Ray tracing can still be set to the "Psycho" level. The settings for the population density of Night City and a special "mode for slow HDD" are interesting. The PC Games Hardware has retained the recommended default settings, except for one point: DLSS was set to "Quality". As a result, Cyberpunk 2077 ran at frame rates of or just over 60 fps and was also kept well at this level. Without ray tracing and DLSS, the fps are a bit higher.

Raytracing is described as "very attractive" and the "driving force behind the technology" with fantastic reflections and few trickery series or misrepresentations. The ray traced shadows also make a very good impression. The global lighting represented by ray tracing should even make a big difference in the game. Technically, Cyberpunk 2077 can definitely convince. The entire, detailed You can find the article on PC Games Hardware read up.
