Once again, CD Projekt Red is forced to postpone the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The new date is now in December and surprises players who have taken a vacation especially for gaming.
The release of Cyberpunk 2077 is postponed for another three weeks. The original date on November 19, 2020 cannot be kept by CDPR, the new date is December 10th. Cyberpunk now has the fourth release date.
CDPR informed about the postponement via Twitter:
The tweet names one of the biggest challenges testing the versions for all nine platformson which cyberpunk will appear. The time allotted for this is insufficient.
With all the understanding that players can have for a perfectly playable product, a bitter aftertaste remains. One day before this tweet, CDPR assured a player that they would make it on November 19th. The player asked for confirmation on Twitter as he wanted to take the day off to enjoy the game in peace. With the response, CDPR left no doubt about the date, only to announce the postponement a day later.
This particular user seems an understanding boss because he gave him the vacation days after the tweets were presented. At least this story ended well, but not all players may be so lucky.
Many gamers seem to have taken time off to play cyberpunk. CDPR thanks via Twitter for the great compliment and apologizes for letting the fans down.
The expectations of Cyberpunk 2077 are extremely high, the hype surrounding the game has been palpable for years. This also puts CDPR under some pressure to do justice to all of this. The corona pandemic is anything but helpful and complicates the conditions. The shifts have been running through the video game industry for the entire year.
