After a long wait and some postponements, the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be launched on December 10, 2020 for the PC and consoles. You can read about how good the latest RPG work by CD Projekt RED actually turned out in our detailed review. At this point, however, we want to take a closer look at a very specific gameplay element – crafting.
In Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 54.99 ) you are not always dependent on finding good weapons and equipment or picking up prey from defeated opponents. Alternatively, you have the option of producing the most important items yourself or improving their existing values. This includes objects from these categories:
- Armor and clothing
- Objects for healing
- Cyberware upgrades
How good an item is when it comes to crafting depends primarily on your current crafting skill. The more objects you make, the higher this ability increases, so the motto "Practice makes perfect" applies. Getting started with the craft of Cyberpunk 2077 is relatively easy, but later you have to invest more time and, above all, perk points in order to continuously improve.

Raw materials and blueprints
In order to produce objects, you only have to call up the corresponding point in the menu – a special craft table or similar is not necessary. Above all, however, the right raw materials and ingredients are essential. You can find these among other things as loot from defeated opponents, buy them from traders or get them from your inventory when you dismantle items that are no longer required. The raw materials are available in different rarity levels, which in turn determine the quality of the objects made from them. You also need the appropriate blueprints or instructions to be able to manufacture weapons, armor and other equipment. They are also available as loot, merchant goods or as an activation in the Crafting Tree.
All the effort is worth it, because homemade weapons are always better than ready-made weapons of the same level. How big this leap in performance is primarily depends on your crafting skill. Alternatively, you can equip existing weapons with upgrades and thus improve their performance and operational capability.
