Dead Cells can be played for free for one week

Nintendo has announced the next test phase of a game, which all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will soon be able to participate for free. Dead Cells will be available between January 26th and February 1st, 2021. The Motion Twin title offers a mix of Metroidvania and Roguelike and has been available in digital stores since 2018 after an early access year.

If you have an existing membership with Nintendo Switch Online, you can download the game now so that you can start playing Dead Cells on your console on January 26th. After the test phase has expired, you have to purchase the title in the eShop if you want to continue playing. Your previous save data will be automatically adopted. We also published a test on Dead Cells at launch in 2018.

The time of the free test phase is not chosen entirely by chance. On January 26th, Fatal Falls is the second paid expansion for the game. This expands Dead Cells by two biomes (Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores). And new opponents and bosses also find their way into the game. You can find the trailer for the DLC below.

Just earlier this year, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers had the opportunity to take part in the free trial of Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. This week speculation about the supposed Nintendo Switch Pro has surfaced again.

All readers receive daily news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts about their favorite games free of charge. So far we have financed this site through advertising and kept it as free of clickbaits or paid items as possible, but since COVID-19 this has become increasingly difficult. Many companies are cutting or cutting their advertising budgets for 2020. Budgets that we unfortunately have to rely on if we want to continue to offer PC games free of charge as usual in the future.

For this reason we turn to you now. You can support us as a PC Games supporter so that we can continue to offer our content in the usual form for free, without introducing a paywall or publishing clickbait news like "And you won't believe what happened next …" . Every contribution, large or small, is valuable.
