Deathloop will run in 4K and 60 FPS on a PlayStation 5. Game Director Dinga Bakaba confirmed this this week. He also talks about the unique game idea of the new title of Dishonored makers and reveals first details about the PvP area of Deathloop.
After the gameplay unveiling last week at the PS5 event, the Arkane Studios team has now released more details on Deathloop. Game Director Dinga Bakaba confirmed in a recent interview at Bethesda website among other things, that Deathloop will run in 4K at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5. In addition, the creators will incorporate the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the new DualSense controller of the next-gen console into the game.
According to the game director, the team wanted to experiment around Dishonored with a unique game idea. The result is Deathloop – a title that focuses on the strange relationship between Colt and Julianna. While Colt tries by all means to break out of the death loop, Julianna wants to keep playing the deadly game. Both characters will have a similar core set of tools – but there are some unique abilities as well.
Colt can therefore not only return when he is killed, but also hack all devices in the area and try to gain an advantage over his competitor. Julianna, on the other hand, can take over the appearance of all NPCs in the game and thus pose a permanent threat to Colt. These 1v1 battles will also be available in PvP.
Even though Deathloop is primarily designed for the campaign and story, other players can intervene in your session. Accordingly, Julianna is not always taken over by the AI, but sometimes also by a human player – if you want that of course. This feature is particularly reminiscent of the invasions in Dark Souls. Deathloop for PC and PlayStation 5 will be released later this year.
