Demon's Souls Remake: release for the launch of the PS5? – Current games
The age rating of the Demon's Souls remake in South Korea could be an indication that the action RPG will be a launch title for the PS5.
On August 13th an age classification of the Demon's Souls Remakes held in South Korea. While this is not yet a confirmation that we will see the release of the game anytime soon, an age rating suggests that the start is not too far off.
Let's get the Demon's Souls Remake as a launch title for the Playstation 5?
The only two other PS5 games that have also been rated are Godfall and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both titles are to appear at the launch of Sony next-gen console. It could well be that the Demon's Souls Remake will also be a launch title, even if a release date has not yet been announced.
Also, some PS4 games came out soon after they were rated in South Korea:
- Horizons: Zero Dawn was classified on December 14, 2016 and was released on February 28, 2017
- Days Gone was classified on January 9, 2019 and was released on April 26, 2019
- Death Stranding was classified on September 18, 2019 and was released on November 8, 2019
- The Last of Us Part 2 was classified on March 19, 2020 and was released on June 19, 2020
- Ghost of Tsushima was classified on April 2, 2020 and was released on July 17, 2020
The Demon's Souls (buy now for € 27.99) Remake as a starting title for the PS5 would be good insofar as Deathloop was recently dropped as a launch title. The game has been postponed to 2021. Additionally, the Demon's Souls Remake looked really good when it was announced, and there were some positive voices about the action RPG. Soulslike are still popular and starting with a title like this can only be good for the PS5. In the trailer and the first screenshots, the game really looked like a next-gen title.
Still, we shouldn't get too hopeful. Because the age rating does not have to mean that the Demon's Souls Remake will appear at the start of the PS5. Maybe this doesn't mean that much and the release won't happen until next year. That would also be possible.
Sony will certainly hold a new State of Play soon and then talk more about the Playstation 5 again. Maybe we will find out the exact launch date of the console and the price, and Sony may then also reveal which games will be available for launch.
