Borderlands 3

Since the release of Borderlands 3 2019, Gearbox has been busy developing and releasing content and patches for the popular shooter. However, behind the scenes work is already being done on a new entry for the franchise Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is now on Twitter relatively openly admitted.

Borderlands 4: Gearbox is working on the “big thing”

Pitchford wanted to comment on Twitter on rumors that Gearbox would be assisting another studio with the development of a new Borderlands game or a spin-off of the series. He countered these rumors with the statement that Gearbox “the only developer of all future games from the franchise„.

But he hadn’t said enough with that and added in another tweet that Gearbox was up to date work on the “big thing” in the Borderlands universe. However, he did not go into any further detail about what he meant by that.

Borderlands 4: is the game in development?

Twitter users recalled under the post that Pitchford had already spoken of the “big thing” in the past – and at that time (2015) it meant Borderlands 3. So theoretically he could simply get on with his post Obtain additional content for Borderlands 3, but most gamers interpreted his tweet as an unofficial announcement of Borderlands 4.

Given the popularity of Borderlands, a new game wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but fans will no doubt be particularly excited about the future. In any case, according to the comments on Twitter, they’d be happy to see Gearbox soon at least a little teaser would follow Pitchford’s testimony.
