Among Us fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the Airship map announced last year, which is due to appear in early 2021. Development studio Innersloth has now turned to the impatient crowd in a post on the game's official website to assure them that a) the Airship map will appear as planned in the near future and b) there are still plans for the new area after the release of the new area the future of Among Us exist. The team also provided an answer to the frequently asked question "why is it taking so long?" One did not expect the belated success of Among Us (the game originally appeared in June 2018) and suddenly had to create new structures in order to be able to do the work that is necessary for the maintenance and further development of the brand.
Among Us was only created by three people, with Community Director Victoria Tran, the team was only expanded by a fourth employee. This means that ways had to be found to use the limited manpower as efficiently as possible. It is not in the interests of the team to hire a lot of new staff and then perish in the long term from the additional responsibility. Instead, the internal processes have been optimized and will soon be able to present a roadmap for 2021.
In addition to the map update, Innersloth is also working on an account system and on completing Among Us as Game Pass content for the Xbox consoles. The PC version is already available in Game Pass, and Among Us is already playable in the Epic Store and on Nintendo Switch.
That brings the new map
For the first time, the Airship card will allow crewmates to determine which room to start in. There will also be ladders that can be used to get to different levels. In addition to the new mechanics and the map, which of course comes up with numerous tasks of its own, there should be a suitable costume package for the Airship update. The additional content is said to be free to all Among Us owners, the post claims.
The company has big plans for 2021, which will soon be communicated to the public. So we can look forward to receiving more information regarding Among Us soon.
