In the run-up to the 20th season for Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls, the developers are introducing a whole range of new features and bug fixes with Patch 2.6.8. Here you can read the complete patch notes with all details.

The Diablo 3 (buy now) Patch 2.6.8 for the 20th season is live. In addition to bug fixes, there are interesting innovations and extensive updates. For example, you can expect three brand new class sets, a whole load of changes for legendary items and a pretty insane, game-changing seasonal mechanic that will shake up your understanding of traditional builds. You can read the developer blog with further background information on design here.

You can read the patch notes below. Please note that you will not be prompted to download patch 2.6.8 until the patch is live in your region. If you log into the client for Europe and Asia, you will have to wait until the patch is released in the respective region before you can install it. If you are in North or South America, you will also not be able to log in via Global Play in Europe or Asia until patch 2.6.8 is also live in these regions.

seasons

  • A new season theme for season 20, the Forbidden Archives season, has been added.
    • During season 20, all of Kanai's dice slots will be able to contain legendary properties of weapons, armor or jewelry.
      • This means that you can choose three armor properties, three weapon properties, three jewelry properties or any combination of all categories.
      • Items are not additive or multiplicative with themselves (that is, you cannot stack multiple versions of a property of the same item together).
      • At the end of the season, when the characters are transferred to the non-seasonal game, all properties currently active in Kanai's dice are reset.
      • Developer comment: As described in our blog “Developer Insights”, we want to continue to bring creative (and maybe a little crazy) seasonal themes and features into play. We have received feedback that you prefer topics that immediately make your character feel more powerful, as opposed to topics that require you to focus on your surroundings. If this applies to you, the season of the Forbidden Archives is just right for you, and we're really excited to see how season 20 will change the game.
  • Two new season rewards are available for players who complete the season 20 season trip, including a new portrait frame and a companion.
