At BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard had to take a lot of criticism for the announcement of the mobile game Diablo Immortal. Now, at the end of 2020, a first technical alpha test has started in Australia and some media have already been able to allude to the new hack and slay. The opinions are surprisingly positive. PC gamers still do not have to wait for implementation.
No Diablo Immortal for the PC
When asked "At BlizzCon you said it would be a full-fledged mobile game without a PC version, is that still the case or will that change?" in an AMA on Reddit, Lead Producer Caleb Arseneaux responded, "We're focused on creating the best Diablo mobile experience. We look forward to bringing the epic action-RPG elements to their mobile devices for both Diablo veterans and newbies bring. "
With this, Blizzard confirms once again that there will be no PC version of Diablo Immortal. Whether that will change is unclear, but also unlikely. Because Diablo 4 has now been announced for PC. Incidentally, both titles are strongly based on MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft and want to offer a social game experience in which other players play a major role. It is also currently unclear whether controllers for Diablo Immortal are supported.
One option would be to be able to stream the game on a TV and then play it with a regular Xbox or Playstation controller, but something that many Diablo fans would surely appreciate. So the action RPG would feel like a console version – provided the streaming works well. Whether something like this will come is in the stars.
