For a long time it was unclear whether the digital “Final Fantasy 14” fan festival would not only be held in the stream, but also in front of a live audience. Now Square Enix has announced that there will be no spectators on site.

The digital Fan Fest for Final Fantasy 14 is fast approaching. In addition to new information on the upcoming Endwalker extension A lot of other stage programs and in-game events are also offered. Back in February, producer and director Naoki Yoshida announced that the entire show would be available for free on Twitch – including the great concerts.

So far, however, it was unclear whether in the event hall of the Tokyo Garden Theater Live audience will also be allowed. today announced Square Enixthat this will not be possible due to the COVID19 pandemic and the emergency again declared in Tokyo. However, the live broadcasts should all take place as planned under the necessary security precautions.


The digital FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2021, planned for May 15 and 16, will take place without spectators on site due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Since the Japanese government has again declared a state of emergency in Tokyo, we have decided to let this event take place without a live audience. The safety and health of our players, guests and employees is our top priority.

The stage program and the virtual activities will continue to take place with suitable safety precautions to protect against infection. We will also broadcast the entire stage program live as planned, so be part of the digital Fan Festival 2021 from home!
