After the release of Dying Light 2 was postponed indefinitely last year, the Techland team would like to present some news about the open world project again this year. Now the creators have to look for a new art director for the game first.
After more than 22 years at Techland, Pawel Selinger has now left the studio in Poland. He was also the main author responsible for the successor. Pawel Selinger explained the reasons for his exit in his statement LinkedIn however not written.
"After more than 22 years, I made the decision to end my cooperation with Techland. I would like to thank the company that has allowed me to grow and fulfilled half of my life. Techland, I will always cheer you on , just like the people I met thanks to you. I wish you all that Dying Light 2 and all upcoming projects will be global successes. Goodbye and good luck!"
Because of this news, fans are making themselves in Forums now again worries about the current state of Dying Light 2. The game was already announced during the E3 2018. At E3 2019, spring 2020 was set as the date. However, this release could not be adhered to either. In May last year, anonymous sources wrote a Polish website described the development of Dying Light 2 as "complete chaos". The Techland team only shortly afterwards called these rumors about the successor as false.
