All Madden NFL 21 owners for PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. The new "Dual Entitlement" program from EA will be used here. When the next-gen implementation of Madden NFL 21 will appear is not yet clear.

A few days ago, the Electronic Arts team unveiled Madden NFL 21, the latest version of football simulation with a trailer. On August 28, 2020, the title for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be released in stores. At the end of the year, an implementation for Google Stadia as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X should be available. EA has now also presented the upgrade plans for the next gen.

With the so-called "Dual Entitlement" program, the company wants all buyers of Madden NFL 21 (buy now for 69.99 €) for PS4 or Xbox One offer a free upgrade to the corresponding version for PS5 or Xbox Series X. Only players who are interested in the digital edition of PlayStation 5 have to watch out. According to a statement by EA, it is currently not possible to upgrade to a physical version of the football simulation if you decide to buy a next-gen console without a drive. If you are undecided, you should purchase the digital version of Madden NFL 21 to avoid this problem. The offer is valid until the release of Madden NFL 22.

So far, Microsoft has only presented one model of the next-gen console with the Xbox Series X. However, rumors have long been around Project Lockhart, which is a cheaper hardware alternative. Here, too, it is conceivable that Microsoft will do without a drive. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition was launched in this generation, a console that focuses on services such as the Xbox Game Pass.
