In the past few months there have been rumors and speculations about a remastered version of the Mass Effect Trilogy. Just recently a report surfaced that their release is likely to take place in 2021. The developer studio Bioware and the responsible publisher Electronic Arts have so far remained silent on this topic. But that could change very soon.
Electronic Arts recently published an updated financial report. At the corresponding investor conference, the publisher gave a small, if somewhat vague, outlook for the near future. So it says:
"Over the next few months, we expect to announce the release dates of additional Fiscal Year 2021 titles – including an EA Original and a Remastered title."
The mentioned fiscal year will run until March 31, 2021, so the games mentioned would appear over the course of the next five months. The unspecified "remastered title" could well be the Mass Effect Trilogy, as it has been a very prominent topic with many insiders in the recent past. Of course, a completely different game could be hidden behind it.
We may already be a little smarter on November 7, 2020 – tomorrow, Saturday. That is when the annual "N7 Day" takes place. This is a fan event for the role-playing game series Mass Effect and thus actually the ideal time for an announcement of this kind.
