Little is known about the plot of Nightmare of the Wolf so far. That’s why we’re taking a closer look at the second trailer, which gives us more information about the story of the film. In the video we see how the witcher Vesemir, who plays the main role in the animated film, teams up with a magician named Tetra to do a dangerous job. The young woman is a new character, but we also meet old familiar characters in the film, such as the elf Filavandrel. It seems that the embittered Elven King and Vesemir have known each other for a long time. What exactly connects their stories remains a secret for the time being.

It’s going to Kaer Morhen!

Vesemir is a witcher and the story of these monster hunters clearly begins in Kar Morhen. At the beginning of the trailer we see how Vesemir comes to the fortress of the witchers as a child and how he is accepted into their circle. Vesemir was lucky that he survived his metamorphosis into the Witcher. In the video we see that many children did not survive the so-called herb test. The makers of the Witcher series recently released on twitter an exciting reaction video in which the screenwriter Lauren Schmidt Hissrich reveals some details about the plot of the second season of the Netflix series. So she compares the Leshy from the animated film with the Leshy, who will appear in the next chapter of the Witcher series. The Leshy in the series is going to look different from the Leshy in the movie, according to Lauren.

Leshy come from Slavic mythology. These are primeval nature spirits who have been protecting the flora and fauna of the forests for eons. In peaceful times, the Leshy takes the form of a wild animal. If the natural balance in its territory is upset, the guardian spirit will transform itself into a frenzied, terrifying monster that will hunt down all intruders who harm the forest and its inhabitants. In the German translation, the natural spirit simply gets the name Waldschrat. A few of these wild forest spirits even appeared in Witcher 3. Vesemir also has to deal with Waldschrat in the new film. The trailer shows a scene in which Lady Zerbst asks Vesimir for help because the Leshy is attacking people. However, it should not just stop at this mission.

However, the story about the frenzied Waldschrat is much more complex than it seems at first glance. Because the spirit does not seem angry with people for no reason. What upset the Leshy? And will Vesimir accept the woman’s assignment? We find out am 23. August! Then the Witcher anime film will be available to all subscribers on Netflix. the The second season of The Witcher will then appear on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
