Fantastic music breathes life into the world of World of Warcraft. Regardless of whether we go for a walk in the magical Eversong Forest or take a trip to the gloomy dungeons of the Black Rock – music is our constant companion in WoW. In the meantime there are countless well-known pieces of music in the game, but now previously unreleased WoW melodies are also given a stage. A fan named Yodragon meticulously summarizes the unknown pieces of music into an almost ten-hour playlist.
Blizzard's developers have tried a lot over the past few decades. There were numerous unfinished areas, extraordinary concepts, or wild ideas that didn't make it to World of Warcraft in the end. This includes not only game mechanics and the graphic design, but also the music that the music designers compose to match the respective WoW expansion. In the course of development, some pieces of music are lost or they no longer really fit the concept. However, that doesn't mean that this music is second rate. But on the contrary.
We are glad that WoW fans like Yodragon do the extra work and gather those lost pieces of music. The fan project lasted almost four years, according to Yodragon! And the result is really impressive! The result was almost ten hours of audio material, which the artist combined in a video with fantastic WoW artwork and in-game recordings. The video contains both unpublished tracks and pieces of music composed of various melodic components. The video is divided into WoW extensions. You can find more information about this in the video description.
The highlights of the video are the unpublished themes like the soft harp playing of Well of Eternity by Russel Brower. It's worth listening to! And here that follows Original statement from Yodragon about his work:
"The very first" full version "of a song that I made was from 2016, 4 years ago. Ever since then, I've been working non-stop on making as many full versions as I could. I originally intended to release these full versions as individual videos but then got the idea to just put them all in one video so that it would be easy to find them all. I've spent the last couple of months polishing and refining this video. Lemme tell ya, it was quite the arduous experience, but I don't regret it one bit? "
