Actually, the shooter Far Cry 6 should be released on February 18, 2021. Rainbow Six Quarantine was slated for a release early next year. But both dates had to be postponed.
Both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine have not received any fixed new release dates. It just means that both titles are now slated for fiscal 2021-2022. That means the titles will go on sale sometime between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022. That could mean a shift of up to a year.
Ubisoft explains: "We are benefiting from this strong momentum and despite the relocation of Far Cry 6 (buy now € 59.99 ) and Rainbow Six quarantine on 2021-22 to realize their full potential in the context of the production challenges caused by COVID-19, our new non-IFRS operating income targets for 2020-21 remain within the limits we set in May. Our ability to maximize the long-term value of our IPs while maintaining solid financial targets underscores the increasing recurring nature of our revenues, the strength of our portfolio of franchises, the confidence in our holiday publications, and the current supporting industry momentum. "
This means that the two games Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine will be delayed due to the Corona crisis. The developers simply need more time because development is slower due to the pandemic. Ubisoft doesn't see this as a major problem. The company assumes that the games Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion will sell very well, which is why further releases are not absolutely necessary in the coming months.
