Emerald weapon (Emerald weapon) came into play with patch 5.4 "Futures Rewritten" for Final Fantasy 14. It presents the newest challenge of the Battle for Werlyt-Quest series, in the course of which we already meet Ruby weapon were allowed to fight. Even if the extreme fashion of "Smaragdsturm" is a little shorter this time than we did for example from Warrior of the light or Memoria Misera are used to, a lot of practice and an overview of the fighting is required here. So that you don't have to jump into the cold water completely unprepared, we want to explain the fight and the individual skills to you step by step. If you have already tried it and are still unsure about one or the other combat element, a look at this guide can of course also be worthwhile. We wish you a lot of fun reading and good luck in the fight against the emerald weapon.

Table of Contents

Emerald Storm Trauma – Unlocks and Rewards

To unlock the emerald weapon in extreme mode (trauma), you must first defeat it on the normal difficulty level. Then talk to the Garlond model maker (Fenn X11.5 Y22.5) so that the fight is available via content search. You need an item level of at least 500 to participate. If you successfully complete the challenge, you will receive a random weapon and an emerald totem. You can buy ten of them at C'intana Exchange (Mor Dhona X22.7 Y6.7) for a weapon of your choice.

Emerald Weapon Extreme Phase 1

Even if the first phase is more of a warm-up, the boss has a few tricks up his sleeve that you should keep an eye on. Here we want to explain the skills of the first phase in the order in which you will encounter them in battle.

Many of the skills in this fight are already familiar from normal fashion.

Emerald Shot & Ultima System

Emerald shot is a simple tank killer that only affects the current tank. Always have a cooldown ready for this. In addition, the healers must react in a timely manner. About the raid-wide area attack Ultima system the healers must also take care of them.

Lightning generator

Now eight balls appear on the edge of the field, which slowly move from there towards the center. When these explode, the damage is shared among all players within the radius. You also get a debuff that prevents you from being able to catch the same ball color twice in a row. Your goal is now to explode all the balls before they reach the center. There are two different tactics used by the different groups:

When installing in Groups of two two players each go to the west, north, south and east side of the playing field. Each group catches another ball.

When setting up in two Groups of four Four players gather on the western and eastern sides. As soon as the first bullet explodes, both groups immediately move to intercept three more bullets each.

Pay attention to the balls of the same color. They show you in which direction to rotate.

Whether you move clockwise or counterclockwise depends on the colors of the balls that spawn on the east and west sides. Since one color appears twice on one side, you always have to move in the other direction in order not to trigger double explosions.

Emerald ray

This ability is already known from normal mode. The laser attack of the emerald weapon rotates in one direction, while circular areas of damage move outwards from the center. Just run in the appropriate direction and switch back and forth between the inner and middle damage area.

Magimagnetism 1 and 2

In the course of the fight you will deal with the magnetic bombs three times. You have to react differently to each bomb set. The goal, however, is always to find the place where the bombs have the same polarity. Since these repel each other, each combination creates a savespot.

The first Magimagnetism both tanks are provided with an AoE marker. While the raid gathers at the savespot, the tanks run to the opposite side of the room. There is another savespot to the left and right of the stationary bomb.

With the first bomb set, the tanks run into the opposite corners.

The second bomb set follows immediately. Here you just have to find the two bombs with the same polarity that are close to the edge of the field. Then the boss is one more time Emerald ray and Ultima system deploy.

hands

Pay attention right after that Ultima system on the boss's hands, which are now floating by his sides. If these remain outside, a circular area attack follows around the boss, with which you are safe in his hitbox. If your hands fly into the boss, an area attack follows within the hitbox – running outside in good time.

If your hands float outside, you have to be directly under the boss.

Divide et Impera

Divide et Impera assigns a red assembly marker to the current tank, which only the other tank can enter. At the same time, all other players in the raid receive an area attack. So spread yourself generously on its back while the two tanks are right in front of the boss.

segregation

In the segregation only the lower half of the emerald weapon will remain. Immediately move outward to avoid the circular AoE. A rapidly growing red area of damage will then appear on one side of the playing field. Stay away from it generously. As soon as the boss is complete again, you have to pay attention to the hands again and run inwards or outwards accordingly.

Magimagnetism 3

Now the third bomb set follows. Move back to the side on which the two bombs with the same polarity are close to the edge. This time, however, two random players are provided with a marker that triggers a line-shaped attack. Put it a little bit outside so that it doesn't block the savespot.

As soon as the bombs go off, you will do it again Ultima system, hands and finally with Divide et Impera to do before the boss ends the fight with his enrage ability.

Emerald Weapon – Phase 2

Now comes the much more difficult part in the fight against the emerald weapon. Fortunately, you don't have to repeat the first phase again and can practice here until your time is up. Even if relatively few skills await you in the second phase, they still require practice and a good overview.

In the second phase the battle really picks up speed. Fortunately, you only have to survive the first part once.

Divide et Impera

In the second phase it works Divide et Impera a little different. Instead of applying an area attack to all players, the boss makes a conical attack in the direction of each player. So make sure to spread yourself generously behind the boss and not stand in a line so that the damage areas do not overlap.

Terminus Est: Unus

Here six players are marked with a blue arrow. This marks an attack, which then hurls you almost over the entire playing field. Move to the opposite edge to avoid dying.

Stand on the edge so that your arrow throws you over the entire area.

Terminus Est: Tres

This maneuver requires a lot of practice and is probably the crux of this fight. The boss summons six swords, each of which triggers a generous area attack across the playing field. The swords appear one after the other in pairs and then attack in that order. You can tell where the attacks are going by the blue lines that emanate from them. The trick now is to keep an eye on the playing field and see in what order the swords land. Pay attention to the yellow circles.

You now have to run to the sword that landed last, but is also closest to the first. There you wait until the first set has exploded and then switch to the appropriate place. The maneuver requires some practice and attention. You can see exactly what this looks like in the following video.

Here the swords land first in the middle and then in each of the outer corners. We move immediately to the sword that landed last. However, since the point is blocked by a blue line from the first sword, we correct our position a little and then wait for the first set to explode. Then we go there immediately.

Legio Phantasmatis

The Emerald weapon disappears and it appears in its place Garlish wolf on. The damage you cause here will be offset against the actual boss later. A number of flying machines will appear on the west side, which will then race across the field, dropping bombs. The markings above them show you in which order they start. So position yourself next to the first bomber and wait for it to take off and for the first explosion to appear. Then switch to the appropriate place. As soon as the bombers have disappeared, a knockback follows from the middle. Position yourself here so that you will be thrown towards the corners.

Terminus Est: Tres

After another Ultima system and Divide et Impera the second follows Terminus Est: Tres. In addition to the swords, you have to click the segregation respect, think highly of. Two different things can happen in this process: She stays bottom half it is the same process as in the first phase. So first run away from the boss and then keep your distance from the black area. At the same time you have to pay attention to the order of the swords.

The upper half is a lot trickier. First the boss will perform an area attack that will affect an entire half of the playing field. You can tell where this is going by the side on which the wings of the emerald weapon shine. Then the swords will land. Now comes an additional difficulty Knockback added. However, this is not done from the center, but from the black circle. Make sure that you are thrown into the right corner so that you can then properly avoid the swords.

Whether at the first segregation the top or bottom half remains is random. At the last Terminus Est: Tres however, you will always have to deal with the other variant.

Legio Phantasmatis 2

This works similarly to the first Legio Phantasmatis. As an additional element, there are now the legionnaires who gather in three rows on the northern edge and shoot you from there. Look out for the missing legionnaire in each row – this point represents your savespot. At the same time, you have to keep an eye on the already known bombers from the western side.

It can be quite tricky dodging bombers and legionaries at the same time. It is recommended to keep an eye out for the bomber that is known as the five is marked. Since this one starts last, you can fully concentrate on the legionnaires before you have to switch to another lane. Alternatively, you can stay near the first row of bombers and switch to it as soon as it has passed. However, since this happens at the same time as the legionnaires are bombarded, it is quite difficult to keep track of things. Also think of that Knockback which will also follow at the end of this phase.

The gaps in the ranks of the legionaries show you the respective savespot.

Terminus Est: Duo

In the Terminus Est: Duo, a total of six players are marked with an X or + marker. These must be placed on the edge of the field and shortly afterwards trigger line-shaped attacks (similar to the swords of Terminus Est: Tres) that go either vertically or diagonally across the entire playing field. In order to keep the center free as a safe zone, the + markers are placed in the corners and the X markers in the middle at the edges.

In order to keep the center clear, the X-marks run in the middle of the edge of the field. The crosses, however, run into the corners.

Terminus Est: Tres 3

Now the last one follows Terminus Est: Tres. Here you will have to deal with the division that was not used the second time. Then follows again Terminus Est: Unus, in which you are thrown across the arena and one last Divide et Imperabefore the boss Optimized Ultima system heralds the enrage. If you haven't defeated him by now, the fight is lost.

With a little practice it shouldn't be too difficult for you to put the emerald weapon in its place. Do you have any questions or suggestions about the guide? As always, we look forward to your comments.
