The fans of Final Fantasy 16 are practicing reading coffee grounds: On the US wish list page in the Playstation 5 store, one thing was changed at the point of release date: instead of tbc, so "has to be confirmed", it says Coming soon. But … how soon? In the best case scenario, fans of the JRPG series would like a release in 2021.

Can the fans of the JRPG series Final Fantasy continue to have hopes that the 16th part will appear in 2021? The TwistedVoxel writers noticed at least one thing that has changed with FFXVI. This is about the wish list page of the Playstation 5. Current developments can be followed via these pages for selected games, even if they have not yet had a release period or a pre-order option. And we know that Final Fantasy 16 will be released exclusively for the Playstation 5 for the time being – but not when.

The People from TwistedVoxel have now noticed that the information on this preview wishlist page in the Playstation 5 store has changed when Final Fantasy 16 was released. A "tbc", ie a "still to be confirmed", has become a "coming soon" – ie a "coming soon". Of course, fans' hearts beat faster. After the announcement of Final Fantasy 16, game producer Naoki Yoshida had already announced that the Awakening trailer only shows gameplay scenes – and this suggests that work on Final Fantasy 16 has made good progress. A job advertisement in October 2020 also showed that the basic structure of FFXVI is almost ready.

In the summer of 2021 there will be another "Square Enix presents" event. Square Enix Presents | Spring 2021 took place and brought the fans news about Life is Strange, Outriders and Marvel's Avengers. So if the people in charge of the Japanese development studio want to present news about Final Fantasy 16, then such an event in June 2021 would be ideally suited. E3 2021 will probably be held digitally at the same time. One fits the other.
