As every month, members of the Xbox Live Gold service get a selection of “free” titles for a few pennies. Also in August 2021 there is a lot to be found, both more recent titles for the Xbox One and Xbox Series, as well as older classics thanks to backward compatibility. We reveal what you can look forward to.

Action fans should the Hack’n’Slash Darksiders 3 be on the wish list, which will be available throughout August. There you have to hunt the seven deadly sins in the role of Fury. If you don’t like it that dark and are more into platformer, you should Yooka-Laylee liked it better. This is available from August 16th to September 15th.

Two older classics have also sneaked into the offer. At Lost Planet 3, available from August 1st to 15th, you can enjoy the prequel to the first two Lost Planet parts. Garou: Mark of the Wolves, which will be part of Xbox Live Gold from August 16 to August 31, is a real hit. This is the last part of the Fatal Fury beating series.

As always, to get access to the Games with Gold, you must be a member of Xbox Live Gold, the online service of Microsoft’s console. You can get an annual subscription for around 60 euros, and if you own the Game Pass Ultimate, you get Xbox Live Gold included. Then you only have to link the games to your account during the promotional period and can then – as long as you are a member of the subscription service – play them as often as you want.
