As of today, Aldi is offering a fat gaming PC with Nvidia RTX 3070 online at a sensational price! The campaign should be a complete success for the discounter – but there is bad news for interested buyers.

Update from 02/25/2021: It can go that fast! Online sales of the coveted Aldi gaming PC started at 8:00 a.m. The gaming computer was completely sold out within a few minutes. For Aldi, the campaign should have been worth it, but many players are now looking into the tube.

However, since the gaming PC should still be on sale until March 20, 2021, we strongly assume that Aldi is already taking care of supplies. On the website you can be notified via email when the gaming PC is available again.

Gaming PC for 1,500 euros at Aldi: Is the Medion Erazer Engineer X10 worth it?

The discounter Aldi announced a few weeks ago that it would enter the gaming business. In fact, the market chain has been offering gaming laptops and PCs online and in their markets at regular intervals for quite some time. From February 25th, the portfolio will also include the Medion Erazer Engineer X10, a gaming PC with i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 for 1,499 euros.

But is it worth buying? Let's take a look at the technical data:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700 (8 cores, 16 threads @ max. 4.8 GHz)
  • Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 RTX
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4 RAM @ 2,933 MHz
  • Mass storage: 1 TB PCIe SSD
  • Operating system: Windows 10 Home 64 bit
  • WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Connections: 4x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A; 2x USB 2.0 type A; 1x microphone; 1x jack; 1x PS / 2; 1x LAN (RJ-45); 1x HDMI; 3x DisplayPort
  • Guarantee: 3 years
  • Dimensions / weight: 20.7 x 38.1 x 39 cm / 12 kg
  • Free of charge: wired mouse

On paper, the Medion gaming PC actually makes a good impression at first – the combination of the latest i7 processor and RTX 3070 is perfect for playing in WQHD or with reduced settings also in 4K resolution. 32 GB of RAM is also a rarity at this price. WiFi and Bluetooth is also rarely found integrated in a gaming PC "off the shelf". The 1 TB PCIe SSD offers plenty of storage space that can be expanded.

Can you actually play on a PC for 300 euros? We tried it:

What is missing, however, is information about the motherboard and the built-in power supply unit – something is often saved here. There will probably not be much room for improvement. However, this is not even necessary with these technical data.

New gaming PC at Aldi: price and alternatives at a glance

Assembling a gaming PC yourself from the corresponding individual parts is out of the question due to the current hardware bottleneck, as the RTX 3070 is always out of stock. But also a look at ready-made pc dealers shows: The current Aldi range is impressive! At the moment there is hardly a PC on the market with similar performance data that costs only 1,499 euros.

In addition, Aldi gives a 3-year guarantee on the gaming computer, includes a mouse and offers WLAN and Bluetooth support in the PC – an “all-round carefree” package. So if you are looking for a high-end gaming PC, you can access Aldi from February 25, 2021.
