Nvidia has postponed the date of the GeForce RTX 3070. The graphics card of the new Ampere series will only go on sale on October 29, 2020. The company wants to ensure that numerous copies are available for launch. Most recently, when the RTX 3080 was released, there was a huge run on the online shops of Nvidia and their partners.
Those responsible at Nvidia have im Blog announced that the release of the GeForce RTX 3070 has been postponed by a few days. The new graphics card was originally scheduled to go on sale on October 15, 2020. Now players have to wait exactly two weeks longer – so the RTX 3070 is now available from October 29th. Nvidia made this decision in order to be able to provide additional units at the start. Dealers should also receive more GPUs as a result.
The company is reacting to the feedback from the past few days. When the RTX 3080 was launched, numerous fans went away empty-handed. Not only the Nvidia online shop, but also those of the partner retailers have been overrun by the immense demand. The manufacturer is already working flat out to replenish the GeForce RTX 3080.
Sales of the RTX 3090 – the new GPU flagship from Nvidia – also recently started. With a price of 1,499 euros, the RTX 3090 is well above the costs of the other two models in the 30 series. With the RTX 3070, the Nvidia team offers the cheapest amp model for gamers. Around 499 euros are due for the graphics card. In terms of performance, the RTX 3070 should even be above the level of the RTX 2080 Ti in some cases. In line with this, the manufacturer has also published a comparison here, which should clarify the performance of the RTX 3070.
