The German Computer Game Award (DCP) celebrates its premiere on Monday, April 27, 2020, at 7:30 p.m .: For the first time, the most important award for games in Germany will only be presented in a live stream. From a studio, presenter and entertainer Barbara Schöneberger and YouTuber Nino Kerl lead you through the digital gala.

With the new format of the award ceremony, the organizers are reacting to the restrictions caused by the corona pandemic. Instead of the originally planned event in the Löwenbräukeller in Munich, a new concept was developed at short notice to honor the best games and the teams behind the games again this year. In addition, the moderator duo brings concentrated game know-how to the studio via live switching. The prize categories are laudated by Dorothee Bär, Fahri Yardım, Smudo, Uke Bosse, Maxi Graef, Viola Tensil and the YouTubers by "Senioren Zocken", among others. The laudator for the "Best German Game" is the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder.

The DCP is organized by the Federal Government – represented by the Minister of State for Digitization Dorothee Bär and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) – as well as the game association of the German games industry. They are supported by the Digital Game Culture Foundation.
