Blizzard is redesigning the homepage for the factions and races of World of Warcraft. In the future, the developers will forego unusual artworks and show characters in traditional armor on the home page. In particular, new players should get a better first impression of the playable races.
Before a hero begins his first adventure in Azeroth, the player must first select a faction and then a people. To make this important decision easier for WoW beginners, Blizzard on the official WoW homepage a large overview of all playable races in World of Warcraft. The developers have revised the page several times in the last few years and added information about the Allied Races to the overview.
Recently, Blizzard redesigned the site one more time and replaced the folks' artwork with characters from the game.
Denizens of Azeroth
Azeroth is home to a variety of different races. Some of them have always lived there, others come from strange worlds. Do you want to be a valiant defender of the Alliance or a brave protector of the Horde? By choosing your people, you decide who you fight for in this never-ending war. Which side do you swear allegiance to?
If you click on the respective people, you will continue to see the classic illustrations on the further pages. The information on the peoples is also not up to date. Darnassus and the Lower City are still considered to be capital cities, even though both metropolises were destroyed in the BfA. Well, both cities technically still exist in the game because they are linked to the story of the respective starting area.
The exciting thing is that the current figures wear special clothes or their traditional armor. Now some players are speculating whether the peoples who have not received traditional armor so far will get exactly this or at least a very similar design for their people-specific armor. In the case of humans, orcs, night elves and the undead, there was already a similar discussion in Battle for Azeroth when the developers presented the armor sets for the war fronts to us for the first time.
These were thematically perfect for the respective people and some WoW fans were wondering why Blizzard couldn't simply pimp these iconic sets and then bring them into play as traditional armor. On the Q&A panel during BlizzCon 2021 the developers assured that they are working on the rest of the traditional armor in order to grant the players their heart's desire as soon as possible. However, they have not revealed which races are next.
