The people in charge of Google are still holding back on official user numbers for Google Stadia. Only the mobile app in the Google Play Store provides information on how many players have looked at the service. This week the app broke the one million downloads mark.
Barely five months after the launch of Google Stadia, the mobile app in the Google Play Store has probably reached the milestone of one million downloads. This is evident from the current data from the analysis company Sensor Tower. Official Google user numbers have not yet been published, which is why the app's downloads provide a small indicator of how many players are using the new streaming service.
Just last month, Google Stadia hit the 500,000 download mark. It is very likely that the free access to Stadia Pro that Google currently offers for two months has given a boost in user numbers. The free version of Google Stadia has now also been started, in which titles purchased without an active subscription can be played with the service. A few weeks ago it was also announced that the Splash Damage (Gears Tactics) team is currently working on an exclusive title for Google Stadia. There are no further details about this multiplayer game yet.
