Rockstar Games brings GTA 5 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X – and thus to the third generation of consoles. The release is planned for the second half of the year, a specific date has not yet been given. At a current Morgan Stanley Technology Media & Telecom conference, Take Two boss Strauss Zelnick commented a little more closely on the remaster versions – and whether these will play a greater role for the publisher in the future. "I'm not sure if there is a bigger part of the strategy," says Zelnick, adding that "remastering was already part of the strategy".

They did it differently than the competition: "We don't just port the titles, we take the time to do the best job and make the title different for the new release – for the new technology on which we publish it" says the Take Two boss. Therefore, improve the technology, update the graphics and make performance adjustments. "That's why I think our remasters usually do so well," says Zelnick.

With the Mafia series, a successful implementation has already been launched, and "GTA 5 is on the way to the third generation". Zelnick is confident that Rockstar Games will have a great experience with GTA 5 (buy now € 149.99 ) on PS5 and Xbox Series X. "You can't achieve that if you just bring a simple port," adds Zelnick in conclusion. We will keep you up to date in our news area.
