Marvel fans will have to be patient for a while before Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is released, but director James Gunn revealed new details about the MCU film on Twitter on Wednesday. Among other things, it was about Rocket Raccoon, which will probably play a very important role in part 3.

According to James Gunn, we'll learn everything about the raccoon's past in the film. The scars on his back are also explained here. The director has been pursuing these plans for a long time. But not only Rocket Raccoon, but also the collaboration with Marvel was the focus of his tweets. Accordingly, James Gunn seems to have a lot of freedom from those responsible for the production of Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Among other things, he was asked if he could possibly do something to create the Infinity Stones. The only requirement for the film is a cameo by Thanos, as James Gunn tells on his Twitter profile.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has not yet received an appointment. The film does not appear in the plans for phase 4 either. Since the MCU's publications have only recently been postponed, part 3 will probably only be released in cinemas in 2023 at the earliest. The first phase 4 film will be Black Widow on November 6, 2020. It then continues with The Eternals on February 12, 2021. James Gunn is currently busy rebooting Suicide Squad, which is set to hit theaters in 2021.
