The production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been in constant ups and downs in recent years. Disney first fired director James Gunn before fans and Marvel made his comeback possible. Then the pandemic overturned all plans. This week, however, the shooting of part 3 could finally begin.

James Gunn announced the start of filming with a Polaroid of the actors and a short message on Twitter. In the photo we see Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Pom Klementieff (Mantis), among others.

Of course, Rocket and Groot are there again – but Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are only needed as voice actors.

Also pictured is actor Will Poulter, who was confirmed as Adam Warlock just a few weeks ago. Chukwudi Iwuji is also part of the new cast. Director James Gunn did not want to reveal anything about his role in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

When will Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 be in theaters?

Fans have to be patient until the start. Part 3 is not expected to be seen in theaters until May 3, 2023. Before that, MCU fans will get to see five films.

Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special already in 2022

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be released in December 2022 even before the movie. Here, too, James Gunn is involved as a director and writer. It is a prequel to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 that will be shown on Disney Plus.
